Tooth and bone loss is observed in cases where gum diseases cannot be treated. With dental prosthesis, this type of gum problems in oral health are also eliminated. In addition to the oral health gained with dental prostheses, the quality of life also increases.
How Many Types of Dental Prosthesis Are There?
- Fixed Dental Prostheses: These are dental prostheses that cannot be removed by the patient himself, such as crowns and bridges.
- Removable Dental Prostheses: These are dental prostheses that the patient can remove himself at any time.
- Total Dentures: It is applied in cases where all teeth are missing.
- Partial Dentures: It is applied in case of partial tooth deficiency. Partial dentures are attached over the tooth with nails and hooks.
- Precision Retained Dentures: It is applied in case of partial tooth deficiency. Precision retained dentures have an aesthetic apparatus that is invisible from the outside.
– Implant Top Prostheses:
Fixed: Bridges or crowns made with implant support.
Movable: These are prostheses similar to total prosthesis made with implant support.
Cleaning of Removable Denture Teeth
A regular dental prosthesis care is essential in order to protect the health of the tissue under the prosthesis and to prevent infections.
- Wash your dental prosthesis with water from food residues after meals.
- Before going to bed, be sure to brush your denture with toothpaste or denture care products.
- Do not use abrasive materials while brushing your denture.
- Brush your denture with a regular toothbrush or a special denture brush.
- Clean your denture care weekly with an effervescent denture cleaning tablet.
