Considerations After Implant

Do not apply pressure to the wound area through the mouth or by touching it with your finger. Do not eat on the implant area, do not control by pressing with your fingers and do not apply pressure with your tongue.
2. APPLY ICE THERAPY.
Apply ice compress to the operation area throughout the day. In order to reduce the swelling and related pain that may occur after the surgical procedure, apply light pressure (outside the mouth) in the operation area, keep it in contact for 5 minutes, and apply ice for 5 minutes without applying anything.
3. WAIT 1 DAY FOR HOT SHOWER.
Do not take a very hot bath or shower on the day of the operation and the next day. It may create a risk of bleeding and may cause excessive swelling with its edema-enhancing effect.
4. PREFER WARM AND COLD FOOD – DRINK.
Avoid extremely hot food and drinks on the day of the operation and the next day. Excessive heat will cause healing disorders.
5. PREFER SOFT FOODS.
avoid hard foods. Since the stitches will stay in your mouth for 1 week, these foods can damage the stitches, cause pain and bleeding.
6.DO NOT SHOW YOUR WOUND.
Never pull your cheek or mouth to show the operation area to someone else.
Stitches may come off and bleeding may begin.
7.BRUSH YOUR TEETH.
Brush your teeth, including the day of the operation. Gargle the operation area only for the first two days, and after 3 days, a cotton or soft brush dipped in mouthwash
etc. Wipe clean with .
8. USE TEMPORARY PROSTHESIS WITH PHYSICIAN’S APPROVAL.
If you are using a removable prosthesis over the implant area, do not use this prosthesis without the approval of your physician. Excessive pressure and friction forces on the operation area can lead to complications such as sutures, bleeding, deterioration of healing, and failure of the implant to fuse to the bone.
9. PAIN – YOU ARE NORMAL.
It is normal to have a tingling pain due to wound healing at the end of the operation.
Use the prescription written by your doctor regularly.
10. BLEEDING IS NORMAL.
It is normal to have occasional leakage of blood from the operation area. However, in case of on going excessive bleeding, please call your doctor.
